A local mom of one is facing a hard time during these hot summer days. This single mom is involved in the WIC program and is in need of an AC unit for her home. She has been dealing with several health issues due to only having one lung and pleurisy – a condition causing a sharp pain during breathing. The heat has been causing her pleurisy to worsen and has been sent to the emergency room already this summer. She was also recently denied disability. This AC unit will help to maintain her breathing, which will in turn prevent illness and decrease stress on her and her infant, who has also been effected by the intense heat.
