A Little LIFT
“Where crowd funding meets barrier elimination”
Many of our neighbors struggle to find stability; to attain self-sufficiency; and to ultimately achieve prosperity.
ALL [A Little LIFT] is a community led, member directed initiative that has an immediate impact on Blueprints [formerly Community Action Southwest] participating individuals and families who are living this struggle.
Blueprints works with more than 19,000 people each year, implementing 35+ services from more 34 locations throughout southwestern PA and West Virginia.
Barriers to self-reliance frequently cannot be resolved with traditional, grant funded programming, and our clientele needlessly lose progress towards self-reliance, perpetuating the need for additional services and dependence on those services.
The ALL initiative is an opportunity for community members or groups to easily prevent small problems from becoming catastrophes for local families and making our community stronger as a result.
All funds received through this initiative are used by Blueprints team members to resolve client barriers.
FUNDS ARE NEVER PAID DIRECTLY TO BLUEPRINTS’ CLIENTS.
Your donations are tax deductible; Blueprints’ EIN 25-1153028
A family displaced due to the hurricanes in Florida are in need of A Little LIFT during this difficult time. The three young girls are involved in Blueprints WIC and TIPP. After losing nearly all of their belongings in the storms, they moved to Washington to live with their grandma. Both parents have recently found employment, but are struggling to obtain a few needed items for the girls. Grandma has also been struggling with the increase in expenses with 5 additional people living in the house. They were able to purchase beds and some outfits for the girls, but are still in need of bedding items, curtains for their room and warm winter clothing for all three children. Funding this LIFT will allow the girls to adjust during this devastating time as well as stay warm and healthy during such a shift in climate and culture.$15.00 donated of $290.00 goalDonate
A single mom involved in Blueprints ROSS and Early Learning Programs, is in need of A Little LIFT in order for her vehicle to pass inspection. Mom is employed full-time and is working hard to make a nice life for herself and her son. Her son is diabetic and has many doctors appointments and expensive medicines that put a strain on finances. Since mom has been working overtime for extra Christmas money, some of her additional income resources have decreased and her rent has increased and has left her in a bind. Fulfilling this LIFT will allow mom to pass her inspection and keep her vehicle and job, while also allowing her son to continue going to Head Start and his needed doctor appointments.$35.00 donated of $201.00 goalDonate
A single dad with four young children has been met with a hard time this winter. His four children, involved in Blueprints TIPP Program, and himself have been sleeping on the floor and couches due to lack of beds. Dad is now unemployed and looking for work. They had initially secured bedding through another resource, but found that the mattresses had bugs and had to throw them out. The extermination of the bugs ended up being very costly for the family, and they are unable to afford beds at this time. The children, ages 10, 9, 5 & 4, asked Dad for beds this Christmas. Funding this LIFT would allow the family to have the basic need of bedding this holiday season.$40.00 donated of $591.00 goalDonate
A single mom of 6 children has worked hard to make a better home for her family and is in need of a LIFT to continue to provide for her children. Mom has been working hard and was able to move into a larger apartment to create more space for her kids. After moving in, they found the previous tenants had bed begs and left them untreated. Mom paid for the treatments to get rid of the bugs, but two of the children's mattresses had to be thrown out due to the issue. The children, ages 4 & 5, now no longer have beds and are sleeping on the floor. Mom put a lot of money towards the treatment of the problem, but now is unable to afford new beds on top of that. This LIFT will allow these children to meet their basic need by having a bed to sleep on instead of the floor. It will also allow the family to continue to move forward financially, especially with Christmas around the corner.$70.00 donated of $295.00 goalDonate
A single mom of a young girl is in need of new tires for her vehicle. Mom and daughter are both active in Blueprints' Family Literacy Program. Mom recently lost her job and was able to apply to a couple different positions and has an upcoming interview. Her vehicle is due for inspection and since her job loss, she is unable to afford tires that will allow her to pass her vehicle inspection. Fulfilling this LIFT for this family will allow Mom to secure employment, transport her daughter to and from school as well as appointments, and continue to attend the Family Literacy Program.$10.00 donated of $221.00 goalDonate
